From all Sides

Amidst the works of art: Where is our son?
We rush through the gallery's first floor.

I find him cross-legged and with cocked head in front of
a canvas having ten squaremeters, on which red, yellow and
orange lines dart into the center: "Do you see the navel?"

He gets up, goes to the other side of the long corridor,
folds his arms facing a almost completely black surface,
peers at the few spots of colours and the display title.
"Funny", he says and goes down the stairs.

I stay and recognise myself in this dark and in the blurs.
I am listening to my breath. "Where has he gone?",
my wife asks me in a hush voice.

He is sitting close to the exit and painting at a children's table.
We smile and go to the posters, thumb through books
and buy a catalogue.

He shows us his picture in which circles become a cloud.
Colourful Soal we read. And Producer Ben.

Described very well how art begins in a child or even how art begins at all: just by beginning, just by doing.
